Customer Questions & Answers Question: What is the frame made of ? Answer: The Sharky III is built with a high percentage fiber reinforced graphite body. Question: What size reel good for catfish ? Answer: Depending on the size of the catfish you are looking to catch we would recommend anything from a 3000-5000. Question: Is this reel for saltwater ? Answer: It is fine to use in saltwater. Clean it with fresh water after use and take it apart for cleaning and oiling every few trips. It comes apart very easily with no tools. Question: Can I put 50 lb braid on this reel ? Answer: Yes you can put 50lb braid on the reel but please be mindful of the spool size. The thicker the braid the less amount the reel will hold. Question: What size for Largemouth and Peas here in Florida ? Answer: The 3000 and up would be a good size for Florida bass and peacock bass. Question: Can this reel be used for trolling with a down rigger ? Answer: You could use the Sharky III for that application, but you would need to consider the line capacity of the reel. Answer: Yes you can fit a Sharky III 1000 on a black hawk II. When making your selections for rods please consider the line weight with the 1000 size spool.
