Big Advantage: Henschel Reels has designed the frame for the ULTI Mode reel that allows the reel foot to be connected to the spool in one of three locations (Picture 3). The choice of which location the reel foot is attached to the reel determines where the bar on the spool is located when the reel is attached to the rod. The three locations result in the bar being located at one of the following three locations: Location #1: attaches the reel foot so that the bar in located in the common location of most fly reels. For some fishermen this is a disadvantage because the fly line can be damaged when the line is pulled over the bar; or Location #2: attaches the reel foot a small amount to the right position. This provides a “softer” edge on the bar, however, for some fishermen the fly line gets tangled with the reel handle when casting a shooting line; or Location #3: attaches the reel foot a small amount to the left position. This position eliminates the possibility of tangling the fly line with the handle, however you have to pull the line only in the direction of the rod. The fisherman can order the ULTI Mode reel with the bar in one of the three positions.
